When I try to install the version i've downloaded off the web,

it keeps asking for disk 1!

... I assume that you're on a mac and downloaded the .sea version. Try the .hqx. I think there's something wrong with the .sea.

I tried installing under OSX from the .hqx installer. After all, if it does start Classic, it should work right?! But it didn't.

Rebooted my Powerbook into MacOS 9.2.2 and installed there, which worked like a charm. Now Press runs under 9.2.2 and in Classic mode on OSX.

Any pointers for those unfortunate souls who can't boot into MacOS 9.x anymore? How can it be done all within OSX?
